Ten years ago, we set forth on a mission to create more useful and effective tools to define, track, and assess the performance of the various markets. We now originate more than 200 indexes that track a broad range of asset classes, including global equities, fixed-income, and commodities. These combine to form an asset allocation index series. Morningstar Indexes launched the Morningstar^® Ultimate Stock-Pickers Index^SM this quarter. This index selects the top stocks bought by the industry's top active managers. These stocks represent the best investment opportunities as identified by the most consistently outperforming portfolio managers across a diverse range of investment strategies. Morningstar Indexes also launched two risk control variations of the Ultimate Stock-Pickers Index: Morningstar^® Ultimate Stock-Pickers Target Volatility 7 Index^SM and Morningstar^® Ultimate Stock-Pickers Target Volatility 10 Index.^SM

Van Eck has licensed the Morningstar^® Wide Moat Focus Index^SM for a Market Vectors ETF scheduled to launch in spring 2012. The Moringstar Wide Moat Focus index is composed of the 20 wide moat stocks with the best valuations as measured by the Morningstar price/fair value ratio. The term "wide moat" was coined by Warren Buffett and is used to describe companies with sustainable competitive advantages.

The newly enhanced Morningstar Emerging Markets Bond Index Family consists of five indexes covering the corporate and sovereign debt of emerging markets:

BlackRock iShares has licensed the Morningstar Emerging Markets Corporate Bond Index and the Morningstar Emerging Markets High Yield Bond Index for new exchange-traded funds launching in spring 2012. First Asset has also licensed the Emerging Market Composite Bond Index for an ETF launching in Canada in spring 2012.

Launched in January 2012, the Morningstar Multi-Asset High Income Index is a broadly diversified index that seeks to deliver a high level of current income while maintaining long-term capital appreciation. The index consists of a comprehensive set of income-producing exchange-traded funds that collectively targets equity, fixed-income and alternative asset classes. BlackRock iShares has licensed the index for an ETF to be introduced in spring 2012.
